Samsung washer not draining

Another common problem with washing machines is when the washing machine stops draining water.

We were called to a house in Juanita, Kirkland, Washington, to check a Samsung washer that was not draining water. The homeowner said that the machine had completed the wash cycle, but all the water remained inside, and sometimes it did not spin either. Of course, the homeowner first tried to solve the problem himself. He restarted the washing machine several times, but that did not help.

With many years of experience in repairing household appliances, we immediately understood where the problem lay. In most cases, the problem is a clogged drain pump. We removed the pump and found coins, lint, and small pieces of fabric that had completely clogged the pump and prevented the motor from pumping out the water.

We cleaned the debris out of the pump and tested it. The motor was already weakened from the strain, so we installed a new pump. After we put everything back together, the washing machine drained the water perfectly and ran a full wash cycle without any interruptions.

The entire repair took about 50 minutes, and the customer was happy to finally be able to do laundry again without worrying about standing water.

If your Samsung washing machine no longer drains water, the problem is usually easy to fix — and can usually be resolved in a single visit.
