Quite often, electric stoves stop heating up. We repair a lot of appliances every day and have encountered many different cases in our practice.
We recently received a service request from a home in Kirkland, Washington, regarding a Whirlpool electric stove that had stopped heating properly. The customer mentioned that the stove turned on, the control panel worked, but one of the burners did not heat up.
When an electric stove turns on but does not heat up, one of the first things we check is the baking or heating element. This is a very common problem with Whirlpool electric stoves, especially after many years of regular use. Heating elements wear out over time and can burn out without any visible signs.
In this case, the heating element had burned out. It was no longer generating consistent heat, which explained why the stove was warm but couldn't cook food properly. The rest of the electrical system was working as it should.
We carefully removed the damaged element and installed a new one. After the replacement, we tested the stove by running several heating cycles to ensure that the temperature was stable and evenly distributed across the entire cooking surface. Once everything was reassembled, the stove heated normally again and responded correctly to temperature adjustments.

If your Whirlpool electric stove is not heating properly, don't ignore these signs. In many cases, repairs are simple and much more affordable than buying a new appliance.
