We were called to Kingsgate (Kirkland, Washington) because every morning the family found a small puddle of water under their LG refrigerator. The refrigerator was cooling normally, the freezer was working fine, but the water kept reappearing no matter how many times they wiped it up.
This is a very common problem with LG models. Very often it is caused by a clogged drain tube. The water does not drain into the drain pan, but slowly spills into the refrigerator and then onto the floor.
We quickly diagnosed and confirmed the problem.
The drain pipe was blocked, and ice had accumulated around the defrost area. We cleaned the drain pipe, made sure the water could flow freely again, checked the heater to make sure it was working properly, and adjusted the angle of the drain so that the water would flow in the right direction.

The entire repair took about an hour, and no parts were needed. Once the drain was cleared, the leak stopped completely. The next morning, the customer finally woke up to a dry kitchen floor.
