Repairing a GE French door refrigerator in Houghton, Kirkland, WA

One of the most common problems we encounter with GE French door models is poor cooling.

This week, we were called to a home in Houghton, Kirkland WA, to look at a GE French door refrigerator that was not cooling well and was noisy. The refrigerator was running continuously, but the temperature inside remained too high, and food was not staying fresh. The freezer was working slightly better, but it still wasn't cold enough.

When we ran diagnostics, we found the problem was in the condenser system. The condenser and its parts were clogged with dust, and the condenser fan was barely moving any air. The compressor has to run constantly, but when it's clogged, it can't lower the temperature.

We thoroughly cleaned everything, checked the airflow, and replaced the weak condenser fan. As soon as the new fan started working, the noise disappeared, and the refrigerator began to cool evenly again.

If your refrigerator is malfunctioning, a quick visit from a service technician can usually solve the problem before it gets worse.
